Maida Vale Family Penthouse

The project brief called for the modernisation and extension at the roof level of this unmodernised flat. Working closely with the client, the scheme resulted in a dramatic penthouse level, double height flat with roof terrace. The mansion block sits within the Maida Vale conservation area and despite limited precedent, permission was granted to build a new roof top extension and improve the roof level to make a terrace area. The new roof extension created space for an eat-in kitchen with far-reaching views over north London. The newly created open plan lounge and dining areas were connected to the kitchen area with a glass-rail balcony overlook making for a dramatic double height space.
